    Steam Machines Coming In November.

All the credit goes to Liliputing.com & you can read the article on their website here.

Valve has announced that the first Steam Machines will launch in November. These are gaming computers from companies including Alienware and Falcon Northwett which will run Valve’s Linux-based operating system called Steam OS.

The company has also introduced a new device called the Steam Link which will let you stream games over your home network so that you can play even if you’re not in the same room as your gaming PC.

The Steam Link will also be available in November, and it will sell for $50.

The Steam Link is a small box with HDMI, Ethernet, and USB ports which you can connect to a TV and use with a Steam Controller video game controller — you’ll also be able to buy a Steam Link and Steam Controller bundle for $100.

Valve says the Steam Link supports 1080p resolutions at 60 Hz with low latency. You’ll be able to use the Steam Link with any PC running Steam OS, but it also works with Windows, Mac, and Linux computers featuring Steam software.

This weekend HTC showed off a virtual reality headset called the Vive which was developed in partnership with Valve. Now Valve says the HTC Vive will be available by the end of 2015, while a developer version of its virtual reality headset will launch this spring.

Interesting news, I'd like to try that controller.
Steam Link will be cool for people who have a beefy PC hidden in their study and want to play in the living room.
And another news not mentioned here but great for developers - Valve announced Source 2 engine and it will be free for developers
I guess that makes sense since more developers means more games on Steam and more money for Valve, but still great news.

Frankly I have zero interest in steam boxes , can't see why one wouldn't just buy a PC if they didn't have one already. These things are not going to be cheap. I really don't see a space for them in the game market.

Of course, since I said that, you can now look forward ti them taking off and dominating the market

Kind of interested in Steam Machines. Seeing how XB1 and PS4 are just less useful PCs anyway. Why not see if this could be a better option(for me at least)? Price is a bit of a concern for me though.

Didnt Alienware already release one of these things...? Eh, Steam Machines never really peaked my interest.

I used to run steam on my media center PC.
it was woefully underpowered but it managed a few of the free games at 720p.
Steam dedicated PC in the living room is a great idea.
So many good indie games on steam.
They also cost less than their console counterparts.

problem is I see these steambox's all built with AMD APU's (the only real option for a tiny enclosure) and other off the shelf hardware and charge an outrageous price and it will kill it.

The other thing is I don't care for what Ubuntu has become and could build my own stripped down Linux OS with the steam client installed.
Also as much of a linux fan I am the windows version of steam still has more games.
That is slowly changing for the better and with so many dev environments offering openGL support for linux more newer games should appear for these PC's.
