Hmm, it does? My OUYA has never had a problem connecting so I didn't notice.
Shit, this game has DRM. I can't play the full game unless I have a strong internet connection which on the OUYA is rare for everybody. That's a waste of nine bucks.

Most of the time I keep my OUYA offline: please consider it before inserting a phone-home/always online DRM in your game. If you still plan to do so, please declare it. You don't want pirates, I don't want to be frauded.

Yea I just checked and seen the same thing, at this price there is no reason to not have offline DRM. I'm going to email them and wait for a response, if they will not be doing anything about it then I'll be asking for a refund.
BTW I ran into the same controller, or at least it sounds like it, that you did RS. Apparently when you press the R2 button in a menu it blocks the use of the O U Y A buttons until you press R1. Not sure why the hell that happens but yea.
I realize I got it on sale for $9, but for that or its full price these are sorta issues that should be solved. Just to be clear, I do not have internet issues, but refuse to support a developer that only does the bare minimum to publish a game. HEY OUYA, please for the love of all that is honest, make offline verification part of the ODK or require devs to build something into their app to handle it.
EDIT: I sent an email to the publisher asking what the deal is and if they plan to implement offline DRM support/caching. If you want to light a fire under then send on as well. support@watermelon-corp.com

I may ask for a refund too. I have nothing against the guys who made this game, but I basically wasted nine dollars simply because my OUYA refuses to acquire an internet connection. I can get a new service provider and a new router, but I'm not paying an extra sixty-five bucks a month so I can play the OUYA's DRM-ridden games.
I was in the menu trying to put on some mail for Alina. I simply tried to select it with the "O" button and it wouldn't work. After fiddling around with it, the controls eventually locked entirely. Literally nothing worked. Not even the "R2" button.
I have no problem with DRM. However, when you're developing on an always-online console that is known to have wifi issues, then that's not a good decision at all. In fact, it's completely dumb.

I really like the game and want to keep it, but on principle alone I will not own a game that refuses to treat me like a paying customer. If I buy a game, I bought it to have access to it whenever I want, not when it is convenient for them to "allow" me access. In my eyes the lack of offline DRM is just a lack of respect for their customer base and really makes me sad to think what their motives were for not including it.
On a side-note, what is with these companies anti-pirating themselves out of legit business?
As for the controls, just to be clear, the R2 button seems to lock the controls for me and then only the R1 button will unlock them. :/

Well I was going to say nothing but when I see this thread it pisses me off.
Did anyone stop to think, "hey maybe we can ask Tulio"? DRM is DRM is DRM. There is more DRM out there than not so to see the conversation doesn't even make sense to me. When developers go through all the files, docs or whatever there is nothing about receipt caching. They have to go by what they have for the most part. I didn't even realize it had it since I don't have these severe issues with my internet that others have. But when it came up a few days ago and I saw that someone hit a DRM issue, do you know what I did? I contacted Tulio about it.
There is an update coming so it actually is the perfect time to ask, which I did.
So let's return to talking about the sale and leave the other stuff in the threads where they belong. Maybe someone should start a thread talking about the DRM issues and steps to cache recipts, save games, etc.

Anytime I've contacted them previously about other things, it lead to zero results. I see no reason why discussion of this has to cease given how at its core it pertains to Pier Solar HD on sale with an unexpected digital rights management attached to it. I don't agree with the idea of having a joint assault against their email to raise awareness to the issue, as that's going too far. Consider it warning members of this community who don't have ideal internet or ethernet options like I do.
