Pebble Color on Kickstarter

I don't like taking my phone with me, really. If I can leave it at home, I do. Often the only reason I take it places is because it keeps time. Replacing it with a decent watch where possible would be nice.

But with the Pebble's functionality seeming to be all about your smart phone, yeah.... The only thing despite that which appeals to me is the idea that I could maybe make a variation of my favorite watch when I was a kid, though that's probably just the nostalgia talking.

This is...stupid. Bring back a real Kickstarter. Let's make a Macaroni Salad one! Makes about as much sense as a watch that requires you to carry a phone too.

I guess I don't understand why this would be an inconvenience. I carry my phone everywhere with me, so the fact that my Pebble connects to my phone isn't a problem at all.

My thought is that if you, me and most people are already carrying a phone then why do we also need a superfluous watch?

Well, I think its more convenient to just look at my watch instead of having to take my phone ALL THE WAY OUT OF MY POCKET!

The Pebble is waterproof, you you could get texts and check the time while swimming...? In reality, the Pebble is actually really gimicky, wow.

I just never really got into talking and using my phone. I don't get the obsession with them I see around me. I'd rather bring a laptop with me somewhere to do stuff. That's the sort of stuff I do, phone can't handle it. So my phone is more like a glorified pocket-hogging watch with emergency features, to me anyway.

Well we know you don't talk

Phone is always useful even if not for talking. I hate the phone but if an accident happens or something, nice to be able to call someone. When I got clipped by a truck and my car flipped 4 times, it was nice to be able to call for a ride home. The watch would have just told me the time I got flipped.
