AVerMedia Game Capture HD II considers all OUYA content protected

If you see my posts on Twitter, you may have noticed that I posted yesterday that I was going to do a Let's Play of The Adventures of Chris, but my capture device won't record any output from the OUYA, stating that it is protected content. While this may seem more like an issue with the capture device than the OUYA, I haven't had any issues capturing from my Xbox 360, my PS3, or my M.O.J.O. (which I may use to the Let's Play, since The Adventures of Chris is one game I can access via OUYA Everywhere). The only other time I've had the capture device give me the protected content message was when I tried to capture footage from a Bluray or HD-DVD (so much for using it to back up my movie collection).

Anyway, does anyone know if there is any way to prevent my capture device from reading all output from the OUYA as protected? Are there any settings on the OUYA that might prevent this? I really wanted to do several OUYA videos, but without a workaround, I'm only going to be able to do videos on the OUYA games that are also available on M.O.J.O.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4QWXiN3wvM Here you go ma'am hopefully it works out for you like his did. If you use your Ouya for XBMC or Netflix or Amazon it may have gotten put into your cache.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUP4ZzIGI2A here is another possible work around.

This is actually a very well known issue with Ouya. The only device they say that is compatible is the Elgato line. Other then that they just say it is unsupported. There are a few threads on here that go into it. Here is one that may offer some tips for you

I have the same capture device and the same issue.

I got around it by buying a HDMI splitter exactly like this one:

It'll also allow you to record from the PS3 using the HD Capture 2

Thanks for all the responses! I don't have time at the moment to look at them, but I'll check them out this evening.

    *crossing fingers*

    EDIT:

Now that I've had a chance to read everything, I have high hopes that this will work. I have my PS3 running through an HDMI splitter, and I've experienced no issues recording with it (wondered why the AVerMedia manual said that footage from the PS3 needed to be captured via component, since mine was capturing via HDMI). I'll try this out in a bit!

Thanks again, all! You guys are awesome!

    EDIT 2:

    Success!
