I have no intention of selling my Ouya, so if there are Ouya games that are problematic on Mojo that'll kinda not really matter since I've still got an actual Ouya.

I'd like to get a Mojo to experience android games outside of Ouya, still have access to most of what I love on Ouya, and have a more powerful system that is better able to handle 1080p bluray rips without artifacting and skipping.

If you can find me a place where I can buya Mojo for $99, then I'll happily take that. But even on ebay they sell for well over $200.
I think you misunderstood what I said earlier. I said MADCATZ were (past tense) selling the MOJO for $99 over the holidays ( a number of people posting here got that deal). I know they put the price up again a little while back. But I wouldn't be surprised if they have another sale and it goes back down to $99 IF you're prepared to take that gamble and wait. If your after something now, then yeah , just go for it.

mojo right now goes for $150 on amazon.

A tronsmart with the octo-core allwinner 80 which is in the same league as a k1 also goes for $150.

    Think about that.

    This is a fair point.

Just trying to help by sharing some experiences. I was referring to a deal they had a few months ago on mad catz website, not any deal going on now. I never suggested that you should sell your OUYA, just that you shouldn't expect much from OE, so sorry for giving you some info on that. As for Google Play games, a large number of them aren't available or don't work on the MOJO, even ones with controller support (like NOVA 3 or Shadowgun: Deadzone).

I wouldn't pay people to make their games OE ready. If they don't want to then it's their loss, if it's laziness then why reward them, if they don't know how then that's not going to change anything. Plus they would be making money from sales. OE is what's going to have them ready for China and the rest of the world too.

To answer some of the other questions that were in the original post:

That stock Android menu bar is still always present. It's annoying, but can be very useful in some apps. As for rooting to fix it, the MadCatz website gives step-by-step instructions on how to root the MOJO.

Performance-wise, I've seen improvements in a couple of games. Some see bigger improvements in performance than others. Really depends on the game.

Sideloading on MOJO is just as easy as on Ouya. With Google Play pre-installed, and Amazon Appstore easy to download, finding most well-known apps is not hard at all. Also, more traditional apps could work with it, as the MOJO controller's mouse mode emulates touchscreen controls as if you were using a mouse on a PC. It makes some apps much easier to use than they would be on Ouya.

Overheating has not been an issue so far for me, and I haven't read anything about it being an issue overall.

Aren't these still running at $300 or thereabouts?
I'm still a fan of what the Shield is doing, but it's also more about portable gaming and less about the TV experience - unless I've missed something in an update?

    ^This^
The whole OUYA infrastructure, the ODK and what OE allows us Devs to do, are all fantastic things. The ODK with OE integration also takes away a LOT of the pains that come with controller support, not just buttons, but handling and re-assigning IDs etc.

Also, is the Stock Android bar on every OE game running on the MOJO?
This sounds like something missing in the Android Manifest where you can request for this bar to be hidden and, with it not being a requirement on the OUYA, might be the issue here?
