Go to the controller settings and uncheck keep controller on for media applications. See if that fixes it.
Recently had to buy a new Ouya as dropped the old one and it broke.
On the new one my controller doesn't appear to go into sleep mode after approx 10 mins and remains on. I'm 99% sure my old one automatically powered down controllers in this way.
I can't seem to find a setting anywhere to change this, but it is so annoying when watching a video. I know you can turn off by pushing the centre button but this causes another issue on one of the addons I use because the first time you push it info appears on the screen, so the only way to get rid of that then is to turn controller back on.
Can anyone help or explain why this feature doesn't seem to exist anymore?
Many thanks,
Paul

What Papi said. The setting/feature still exists but it's turned on be default I think.
Really? Sounds like there might be a conflict with whatever you are using to watch videos then. Have you checked through all the settings on what you're using and it's add-ons?

Yeah. It's bizarre. The only difference I can think of between this an my old one is I was previously using XBMC, and this time I've side loaded spmc to get round the ac3 decoding passthrough issue (although this hasn't worked either). Will take a look to see if there's anything in there. Don't understand why there's not just an option to just power down though. Sure there used to be, but maybe imagining it :-)
Appreciate you trying to help.
Are you able to power it down manually by double tappin the ouya button and selecting turn off my controller?
Yeah. That all works fine. Only problem being is as I mentioned earlier, when I push the first time it brings up some info on screen over video. So if I then turn the controller off by pushing a second time in quick succession I'm left with that info on screen. Only way to then remove it is by turning controller back on :-(
With regards to this issue, it is possible that the keep controllers on option will not work so well for SPMC as I am not certain that the feature works for any media application even if based off of XBMC. To check, please first unpair the controller from MANAGE > SYSTEM > ADVANCED > Bluetooth, then download XBMC from the OUYA store and try using it while the keep controllers on feature is disabled. Should this not work, please email us at the link below so we can collect a log of the issue.
