Dammit, that's a dollar less than the sale price that I bought it for! I haven't even touched the game yet and I wasted one dollar!

I just beat the game and am disappointed. I wasn't having fun from start to finish because the game is repetitive, barren, unrewarding, and pretty shallow to boot. It definitely has a high production value, but that didn't save this game from being something I wouldn't recommend unless you're the most desperate kind of OUYA game out there that needs to further justify their purchase in the console itself by buying all of Discover. If I were to review the game then I'd give it a two out of five, but let me break it down for you all.

    Positives:
    - Great visuals
    - Great length
    - Good weapon variety
    - Good amount of options to change how the game looks & plays

    Neutral:
    - Okay soundtrack
    - Okay voice acting

    Negatives:
    - Numerous problems with rope climbing such as being unable to let go
    - The final boss is completely underwhelming
    - No memorable characters aside from Stranger
    - Poor collision when jumping
    - Repetitive gameplay
    - Completely sporadic difficulty
    - Most of the game takes place in a wasteland which is barren, dull, and completely uninteresting after a while
    - Underused hiding mechanic since there's never any foliage.
    - Some weapons such as the Stunkz & Spark Stunkz will never get used because they're useless unless you like wasting time and taking damage
    - You're never rewarded for your efforts despite a lot of the game being centered around collecting bounties
    - Very few upgrades for Stranger and the best ones can't be accessed unless you know a password to a secret door hidden in one of the towns
    - Below average enemy variety despite the length of the game
    - No map which means you may get lost for minutes on end multiple times

I could write down more, but that's all you need to know to determine whether or not you'd like to purchase the game.

I completed this game on the ps vita and I must admit I was left with the same feelings. Until towards the end when the tale took a twist. I haven't actually played it fully on the ouya so I don't actually know if you get the full experience yet or if they dulled it down for the ouya to handle, but for some strange reason I did feel the need to pick it up again and play all the way through. Mainly because of the story for me and partly because I was also playing borderlands 2, which kinda reminded me of it. But it is not ground breaking by any means. Although I would recommend it, for the price and to show what the ouya is capable of.

I think if someone were to buy it then it should be solely for the sake of saying they own it and not out of anything they can gain from the experience. It's honestly a waste of a slot on Discover. At least the tile artwork looks nice...

I dunno. I've played worse. As I said, it's not ground breaking but the fact that it is meant to be almost a spaghetti western with an oddworld skin on it, is probably why it is baron in places. Although abes oddysee would have been a better choice to port over.

I think we've all played worst. Want a game that has the worst controls imaginable? Try The Sandbox's demo and prepare for something truly horrific. I agree that Stranger's Wrath isn't anything groundbreaking, but the fact that the game is receiving such high ratings across the internet tells me that the other entries in the series are just as bad. Then again, you and Starfighter both said that Abe's Oddysee would have been a better choice than this so you never know.

Abes oddysee and Abes exodus were made by a different group of developers if I remember rightly. They were completely different games to strangers wrath. definitely better games than strangers wrath.

Well, if they ever come to the OUYA then I'll remember this conversation and the one I had with Starfighter on the chatbox. I need more reasons to purchase more games and it's sadly not happening as often as I'd like...

I totally agree. You could always try them first on fpsxe. They are psone games so I do believe they would work. I would buy it. But I would also buy flashback if they were to port that.
