There should be an option in advanced settings that kills all apps upon close...uncheck it and give it a try
Hi, was just given an OUYA and have a problem and I was wondering if someone could help.
I have Kodi setup on the OUYA and I have an IPVanish app installed. I thought I would be able to connect to the IPVanish app (VPN app) so I could use add-ons like the BBC iPlayer. The problem is that when I connect to the IPVanish app I can't find a way to minimise the app. This means that I have to back out of the app which in turn causes the IPVanish app to disconnect meaning I am not connected to a UK server and the BBC iPlayer app won't launch.
So basically I wondered if there was a way to minimise the IPVanish app so I am still connected to it.
Somebody told me about advanced settings and increasing the number of background processes but that isn't what I am looking for as I still need to back out of IPVanish which disconnects it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I should have added that I have tried that too. But the app I use closes itself, it is not Android that is shutting down the process. If I try and back out of IPVanish it asks if you want to back out and disconnect or not back out and stay connected. That is why the only solution for me is minimising the app. Is this not possible at all on the OUYA? If I get a simple 'no OUYA doesn't minimise apps' then I will be happy as it will save me looking for a solution. It's not a huge issue I would just like to know there is a workaround.
@OP, Why not just set the VPN setting in the Advanced Settings area? I'm not sure how the app goes about setting up the connection for you, but if it is a plain old VPN then you should be able to just use the settings themselves instead of the app.

Finally someone who wants the same thing!
All the phone/tablet android users know if we press the HOME button the device WILL NOT kill the app!
I think ouya should have something similar! Maybe a option (exit without close the app/game)
