I have a whole bunch of crazy ideas in my head, and worryingly none of them will fit into a weekly schedule.
As such, (and you might've already noticed this) I've been sitting here wondering "Well, what WILL fit into a week?", neglecting the larger ideas, and inevitably getting nothing much done at all.
Last week's "Move the ship, zap the baddies" game is probably one of the most rubbish "Full" weekly games that I've done in a while, and I don't like the idea of making a whole bunch of similarly rubbishy games, whilst putting off the larger, better ideas, because there's no time.
So, instead, I'm thinking of making 2015 my "Gap Year", and focussing on larger month-long projects, instead of constantly trying to squeeze everything into such tiny week-long schedules.
What this means for you
1. You'll be getting significantly less games from me, this year.
2. Hopefully those that you DO get will be significantly more playable. Hours of gameplay, rather than minutes!
3. I'll have time to fix up some of the larger quirks that are still hanging around in my framework, so you should gradually see things becoming a little less "tweaky" as we go through the year. Hopefully, I might even have time to add some nice shiny new features!
Comments/Thoughts are welcome.

I support Jayenkai 2015 game-a-month.
Was going to suggest that (make this the year where it's a monthly game) this morning when you said you had no game for the week.

We love you. Give us whatever you want, whenever you want. (no creepy)
Here are some ideas:
1. Port old games every week.
2. Make clones of your own games to be ironic.
3. Work on these monthly games you are talking about but spend one of the weeks on the game play part. I think that still counts.
4. Work on these monthly games but add up the actual time spent working on them and make sure they add up to no more than a week.
5. Do what you describe but tell obvious lies,"I was playing golf with my friend Tiger for the first three weeks, got bored from winning so much, and then spent the last week on this game."
Anyway, it just seems odd to me for a developer to spend more than a week on a game.![]()
Good idea, I would think even just one game per two months is still quite acceptable!![]()
I think this could be a very good move for you Jayenkai. I'm actually looking forward to seeing some longer games from you.

I second this idea! I actually liked your 'Zap' game but I have always though that if you took a little time and fleshed out your ideas more, that they could turn into something even more amazing![]()
