Still trying to figure it out. It really depends on the platform, and mobile platforms seem to have settled on the IAP side. Paid version? Nobody buys it. The free+ads model (or IAP model, for that matter) relies on having a TON of users because ads pay very bad and because only a tiny percent of users buy IAP. I don't really know what model I'll use on my next game but I'm thinking of skipping mobile markets altogether

The initial version of the game (before it was released) had background music. It was so annoying after a while so I removed it in favour of sound effects and ambience
