can't you add a sideloaded app to your favorites list, it should than be in the play section?

I was thinking the same thing when I first read the OP but assumed they wanted it in Play but not just in favorites like everything else in Play. So, I didn't respond because I thought they were asking for more than what can already be done.

That just sounds...confusing.

What I mean is I believe a side loaded favorite just goes to the favorite section of Play and doesn't go into other folders of it.

Ahh ok, well if that is the case then I guess the OP would still need to edit the APK.

it's a quick fix if one does not want to go through the trouble.

Just to confirm here, sideloaded apps will only go into PLAY if it is made a favorite, or if the app is also available in the DISCOVER store - this of course being outside of any APK editing!
