    problems sideloading GTA san andreas

I have been trying for weeks. I got the apk and 2 data files on my ouya, extracted the data to the OBB file under android, but its not working. Once everything is installed, it goes to the GTA sign up thingy, so I hit offline, then the game closed
Can I please get help with this?
(Btw this is my first post )

First of all, GTA San Andreas will only run if all the stuff is installed in the internal memory of the Ouya, if you are installing any related file on any external USB storage, then no GTA SA for you.

Second, in my case i have the .APK and only one big .obb file (more tan 1,3 GB if i remember well) that needs to be located in the internal memory in Android/Obb as you may know.

This game plays like a dream in the Ouya , even with high quality settings with full controller support and almost no troubles. In fact, GTA SA, GTA III, GTA Chinatown Wars, Max Payne and few others was the titles that prevented me to totally trash my Ouya because in my opinion, 98% of Ouya exclusive games sucks horribly.

Last point, my GTA SA versión is 1.5, i know there is a 1.6 versión lying around but i dont tried that.

    Good luck.

I don't like GTAs but I get they are good for many people. Even without checking, I'm pretty sure this has been asked many times, or at least it should have been: has someone tried to contact the developers of these games (which I don't even know who they are, because really I don't care lol) to see if they would port them to Ouya? If they already work well the effort should be minimal, they get in any case some extra selling, players can play an (more) optimised version and Ouya can say they have GTAs + Max Payne in HD on Discover.
Most of the time I keep my OUYA offline: please consider it before inserting a phone-home/always online DRM in your game. If you still plan to do so, please declare it. You don't want pirates, I don't want to be frauded.

You actually can get those to run from USB if you use something like my USB mounter script to mount the obb/data folders to the internal memory.

I had 2 data files that took up over 2gb on my ouya for GTA SA. They were on the internal, not external. I have vice city working perfect, but i want SA. I have all the data on my ouya and its still not working. It goes to the start menu, then crashes and goes back to the make area...

Okay, i was wondering if someone could give me directions on how to install gta San Andreas.
I have the SD data downloaded in zip files on my external drive.
    And i have the APK.
I know the data has to be on the ouya for it to work and everything.
Btw the data is split in 9 parts..
So ANY help is definitely appreciated.

It won't run if you have the data split in files....use winrar to merge. I was able to get gta sa running with the data folder stored on my external hard drive. If I remember correctly, I was running version 1.03 and what I did was put the obb file on my external in android/obb/. I then installed the APK to the ouya first and then moved it to the external. (Not sure if it makes any difference from installing it directly to external but this is how I did it from what I recall)

Question, Is your ouya rooted with Google play store installed?

I had to reformat my ouya recently but I'll try to see if I can get it installed again...I'll keep you posted.

My ouya isn't rooted. Thanks for this! It REALLY helped me because I've been trying it for like a month. I really appreciate it.

I dont have access to a computer as of right now (its broken) and i need a way to do this.

I take that back. I just rooted with kingroot.

Np Cole. Hope u get it work.. I just installed it again and everything is working flawless. I just have it rooted so you should be able to get it running once you combine the data files and store it on your external.

I bought San Andreas on my laptop through the windows store, would the game work if i transfered it to my Ouya? I'm unsure because i don't think the version was made for android, just windows.. maybe it doesn't matter. Anyone know?
