I wouldn't do a Kickstarter for just an OUYA port of this. Throw in adding features to the whole Android game, allowing you to get funding from other Android players too, would be more beneficial. In that, BeatX, you can see about getting time off of your contractor job for sure to focus on the game by covering a much wider base.

If you were to do one at all, that is.
But I agree with Ezra. I use a framework which has not yet gotten to work with the ODK, and I can get a move-by-controller square up in very little time. BeatX, if you could provide a test apk of some sort for us to give a go, maybe holding just a single wimpy level of the game or something, or even just some sort of button test thing, just about any of us could give it a try. We can install apks right on OUYA easy. (I understand not giving up the whole game freely in this circumstance.)
As it's been shown so far, if you really set yourself to putting it on OUYA, people will jump in. There's people making icons, people doing voice acting, all sorts of talent helping out OUYA devs and fellow players here. It's nice, something more valuable I think than money thrown around at something in my book.

But I don't do what I do for a living, but as something worth living for, so that's me.
Anywho, in the meantime guys, I think if we can find someone who has Google Play working to give it a go as BeatX was curious about, let's do it. If there's someone trying to get Google Play to work but can't, find the appropriate thread for it or make a new one. With a little time, effort, and patience, surely it will get figured out.
Though I do think a whipped together test apk, if not too much trouble, would be a more widely testable thing.
