I would so pay for this game. I would be very hyped for this game. I have a USB Dance pad and it works with my OUYA

    dear killswitch,
I am sure reroot is a nice program but I just don't believe it is for me, that is all and thank you for help meh on installing it.

    dear beatx,
I mean to say that I would help you if you bring it to the OUYA. It'd be allways there and people will be buying it.
Also beatx, I reroot'ed my ouya and now I want to get rid of it and I dont know how.

    Thank you all in advance.

    Hello Guys,

thanx for your support and suggestions

I estimate that porting to OUYA would require following:
    - OUYA for testing (120eur incl shipping) - anyone willing to donate?
    - Time to remove the Android Dependencies (32 hrs)
    - Time to integrate in app payments (16hrs)
    - Time to test everyhting (16hrs)
    - Publishing costs (don't know) + time to publish (8hrs)

LibGDX (the 3D library i'm using) supports OUYA. So this sounds like it's not much work to be done.
The problem however is that since this is not my primary job and i'm still working a lot on new features for standard android i can't work on this more than 1hr/day - which gives us 14+ weeks let's say half the time for a very limited beta

The kickstarter campaign would be great way to postpone my normal job (as a contractor) and take the game to a next level + i would easily show how many people wan't this game on OUYA + the port would be done in a 2-3 weeks + if there would be more money to spend i could focus on new features.

My original post to this forum was primary because i wanted to know if the game runs on OUYA at all (there are some android audio issue that are seriously messed up) so i would take this as a start.

If someone has an rooted OUYA here with google play market (sightlight maybe) - please try to install the game, play with it a bit and let me know if there are any serious issues that could send all the porting efforts to dev/null

I'm sure we can take this step by step...

I'd say 90% of this forum's staff doesn't root their consoles, not sure what the number is for members.
I think the situation here will shift dramatically in the next 6 months since Android Lollipop has a native TV integration - anyone who want's to publish a game for Android TV (which i'm sure will be the primary android version for all HDMI Android sticks including M.O.J.O. e.t.c.) has to support gamepads or at least TV remote controls.

Also all major 3D shooters/Racing games from bigger studios support gamepads already, i'm starting to also see the shift towards splitscreen multiplayer (BeatX will support double mode and 2p multiplayer within a week)

If you release the game 100% free with no ads, I will be glad to donate an Ouya to you. Otherwise not likely anyone will donate so that you can get paid.

And there are no publishing costs. Just whatever time you put into it.

Just asking - i have put some serious hours (more like 10 months full time) in to this project so sorry but the app won't be completely free unless it pays off..
I still think that the app is fairly friendly when it comes to the freemium model - if you ignore the delay before custom song and Ads - you can play for free.

Ah well I don't do freemium anyway. Just thought it seemed greedy asking for donations for a game you intend to make a profit from.

I will agree that asking for what is basically a hundred dollar bill to be donated to you for a project when the project itself will garner you money is a tad unrefined. With that said, why not consider purchasing a refurbished OUYA console (with included controller)? Unlike Martino, I don't care if the game is freemium, free, or premium. Just don't have it suck, or have a monthly charge amongst other bad things.

Ugh...I agree with her. I must be sick.
But yes the refurbs are available, I even bought one for my assistant/helper. I also don't care if it's freemium or whatever as long as it isn't one of those "if you don't pay, you won't win" type of things. But obviously there are people watching and a bunch of lurkers too.

I don't think that this is an option in EU,..
And hey i just asked, where is the problem in that? Supporting something that you like is a normal thing to do, some people do it..

Since i hate the buy to win and monthly charge model i don't think i will ever do this to any app i make..

Hmm, perhaps having OUYA Incorporate supply you with the console with only shipping & handling would suffice? It would still be cheaper than buying the console from another country and then paying those additional fees on top of it. Interested?
