Not to be hard on you, but I would suggest just contacting him with some examples of artwork you have done. That would likely lead to a faster reply, if any at all.

I really hope you like my work!

I draw it on paper, then i photocopy it, and then I redraw it with layers in paint.net and then color it and then saved it.

@sightlight, I feel the Hereos Of Umbra art work is far superior than the example you provide.

I suggest if you are interested in making game assets (art), That you try to familiarize yourself some more tools.

    • photoshop
    • inkscape
    • gimp

Even artist today working in video game industry need to have a good understanding of basic programming and how art works in game. Maybe try making a simple game with your own art in:

I personally would only work with an artists who has:

    • An extensive art portfolio.
    • Has previous worked on other video games.

I think most new comers to the video game industry fail to realize that making a video game takes a tremendous amount of time, effort, money and dedication

I do have basic programing knowledge as I used to program with palib for the NDS, i did programing, backgrounds, sprites, music and sounds also with DSGM, i know about magenta color and all. I have coded in c, a litle bit with eclipse (JAVA) and now I had the chance to purshased the AIDE for my ouya and I am learning, bits by bits. I do not use those programs because they do, mainly cost money. In the other hand Paint.net is free. The reason why the drawing that you saw was poorly made is because the laptop I have is unstable, I childish enough (i am 22) started overclocking it with ubuntu and it got messed up(my fault).. LOL i shouldnt have done that ahahaha! also I did it fast. If you don't really like what I can do i'll just pass. My apologies and Thank you for the oportunity to show you my drawing work..

I recommend these free professional programs.

    Inkscape - Art:

    Moai - Multi-platform Game engine:

Moai was used for these games:

I personally would not use AIDE, you will be limiting yourself to android. If your going to take the time to make something I recommend using a mulit-platform SDK.

Thank you very much. Inkscape looks very potential. I honestly had only seen it on ubuntu but i will give it a try. Ofcourse if the ouya had a paint program with layers and color transparency i would use that. I like to surf the net with my ouya instead of my laptop.
