What types of games are missing from Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft platforms?

That's what OUYA needs more of. Not to pick on Chii's answer, but things like sh'mups, flappy clones, and traditional RPGs are all but absent from the bigger platforms. We need more of those, not fewer.
Actually, I kind of agree with you in part; especially from a marketing perspective (find a void and fill it). I just don’t think there needs to be a flood of game clones congesting the market place; however I love that OUYA allows it instead of turning new developers away.

Right now I also think more indie developers who build for the OUYA do so with the intentions of seeing their games, the way they want it, instead of designing around an audience.

...Except for the flappy clones. We're good on that genre, seriously.

lol I really got a kick out of the last part.

Maybe some sort of fast-paced 3D action games, like Devil May Cry-esque. I'd love to make something like that for the OUYA.

There are a few games on android that don't have Ouya counterparts that would be awesome:
-Savant: a frantic 2D shooterish game.
-Survivalcraft: a Minecraft knockoff that I tried to play through Amazon. Could only move, but it looks awesome and is smooth even with all the effects at maximum.
-Only One: you have a sword, and you're on top of a pillar that teaches above the clouds and you have to kill everyone else or knock them off.
-Baldur's Gate: this works on my nook, it should work on Ouya. Would fill the high end RPG void.
    -Contra mobile
    -Hero Siege
    -Wayward Souls
    -Alone
    -Block Story

All these games need are controllers

... And by that point, it's no longer a boardgame.
I´ve seen a few good board games for consoles, for example Magic the gathering: Duels of the planeswalkers its a very complex game and it works great with the controller. You have Fortune Street too for the Wii, its a grat board game that feels excelent with the controller. The main mechanic of this last game is Roll And Move, a mechanic that i think any game could easily emulate, and there are a few great board games that use that mechanic (Jamaica as an example).

I have a few ideas that might work but as im not a developer I will just wait for someone to take the challange and make one .

Now I wonder. Many and different replies have been provided: Bluebutton, did you find what you were looking for? What are your thoughts? I'm actually curious

EDIT: I also would like to add my +1 to old school sidescrolling beat 'em up, with no RPG elements, so no stats to increment and no stupid grinding, just ability; present day is covered by Double Dragon and Big Action Mega Fight, we could need past and future. Something like Golden Axe or The King of Dragons for the past and I can't think about a futuristic beat 'em up
Most of the time I keep my OUYA offline: please consider it before inserting a phone-home/always online DRM in your game. If you still plan to do so, please declare it. You don't want pirates, I don't want to be frauded.
