    The story
They asked me on Dec 3rd or 4th or something if I could release it on GameStick. I sent them links to two .apks and asked which worked best, the OUYA edition or the plain Android one. I also suggested that, if neither work off the bat, then it's not really something I can fit into my AGameAWeek schedule.
So, they tested both and got back to me, telling me the Android one is the one that works.

I aksed for further guidance in getting it further tested, and ..
Then it was into Xmas and New Year, and things got sidetracked.

It wasn't until early Jan until I heard back from them, at which point I suggested that, if they want me to do it as part of AGameAWeek, they're going to need to be a bit quicker in their replies!!
They sent me a gamestick! I'd warned them that, since my games are freeware, I won't exactly be making them a ton of money, but they still sent me a GameStick!! Nice!!

Got it up and running, and am mostly happy that it works, but a little annoyed that you can either be a GameStick owner, or a GameStick Dev.. Unless you're willing to keep reflashing the device to switch between Dev/Gamer, it's not happy being both. (OUYA does both, right out of the box)

Still, got it running, got it tested, submitted and sent for review.
It took about 2 weeks to get through review.. Not a AGameAWeek compatible timeframe!!

But it DID get through, eventually, and I'm sure RS is screaming her head off, thinking that a move to GameStick would finally get rid of me. ... Not a chance!!!

I've been informed that, in future, my games will be on the fast-track, as far as reviews go. I think they really want to cater for my obscure timeframe.
.. Having said that, I haven't bothered to upload Futrino to them, yet. I might try that tomorrow..
.. To be honest, I can't be bothered to hook it up, again!! I probably should.

Alright, that makes a bit more sense than what was in me head. If I can ever get this OUYA devving problem sorted out, I was mulling over trying to go for GameStick as well. Not ever gonna jump ship or anything, because while OUYA is a laughing stock in many circles, at least people have heard of it.

I don't have a problem with waiting around to have something of mine drop on GS, especially if it's already on something else.

It seems to me that they have a screening process not too dissimilar to other companies. With that said, I'm pretty sure that future game submissions will be a lot quicker unless you just so happen to be screened by a new employee that doesn't know the routine. The Community Manager at PlayJam Ltd. is a good acquaintance of mine so if you need something then hit me up "you know where". Also, I know how much you love the OUYA console and everything surrounding it so I'm not going to try to convert you, or anyone else for that matter.

Lastly, OUYA Incorporation's acquired ten million investment is nice and all, but PlayJam Ltd., has a lot of tricks up their sleeve. So much that they may even start round two of this little fist fight before OUYA Incorporate can even put their boxing gloves on. The fight may start unusually but it doesn't end until someone hits the floor, so in the meantime I'd support both consoles until one of them gets a technical knockout.

I'm currently doing my "Gap Year", but what I don't want to end up doing, is getting into a "Slow Release" habit.
Come January next year (or earlier?) I'm going to be wanting to get back to AGameAWeek schedule, and that means tight deadlines, and incredibly fast releases.
iOS already takes a back seat because of its week-long review. GameStick might end up being in the same boat. I'll be testing them throughout my Gap Year, I suppose!

I have no "BIG" issue with GameStick, but I have a few niggling issues (like the need to reflash to get from Dev to Gamer and Back) which all add up fairly quickly.
I'll try my best to get along with it, and will hopefully be releasing more throughout the year.
    ... But it's no OUYA!

Also, from a gamer's point of view, it's a bit worrying if the biggest game they've got to shout about, is my Alpha Collexion!!!
