Wow that two player option sounds like nothing I've ever heard of before. Bring it on!

Depending on the length id gladly pay 2.99. I can't speak about world size but I think a nice one hour experience would be worth that. Don't have any experience with donations but if I like a free game I always look for an option to donate 1 or 2 dollars, even if I don't play through.

Thanks everyone. Looking forward to feedback from anyone who has sideloaded.

@Killswitch: I came up with the name a good year before I actually started the project. I think I have always just liked the word "Vorpal"

@Rhellik: I just checked my own playtime, and it currently takes me around 27-28 minutes to get through the two current bosses (not counting re-tries when I die) so yes, I think I can reach the goal of an hour of play in the finished game.

Vorpal reminds me of American McGee's Alice's Vorpal Blade, and then Florist, well I see the amount of flowers in the game. Very nice I think. The 2 player mode sounds like a great idea as well. I look forward to when this game is completed!

The word "Vorpal" was originally one of the nonsense words from the poem "Jabberwocky" in "Through the Looking Glass" (which is part 2 of Alice in Wonderland)

One of the characters later explains many of the nonsense words, but not vorpal. As a kid I always thought that based on the context in the poem, vorpal meant "Sharp enough to decapitate a monster"

Damn this does look awesome lol
Ill love it if it's not overly difficult.
Normally people make these games stupid hard and then it becomes more of a chore for me to beat it ._.

Thanks for the opportunity to try some of your game; I enjoyed the parts I played so far. I am having problems understanding how to use the items, are they usable at anytime or are they situational?

@derty: In the final hame I hope to have 3 different difficulty levels, which will (at least) change how much HP you start with. The current demo will probably end up being "medium" difficulty.

@Chii_Dev: the flower and plan items are not usable, you just collect them. I have a vaguely formed plan that you will be able to take them back to the flower shop, sell them, and get money in return to buy usable items. Right now the only items that can be used are the ones you can wield/wear in the equip menu.

I'm really interested in the two player aspect of this game. There was a game on the Sega Genesis called Target Earth, and it was one of the most difficult games on that console. It was a side perspective multi directional shooter with mecha. It had a very little known easter egg where any time someone pushed the A button on controller 2 it would give you control of a random onscreen enemy. It made the game so much more interesting for player 1, as at any time one of the enemies would actually have human survival instincts and not adhere to patterns or bad ai. The screen was full of different enemies in that game, so it was also fun to try out all the wacky weapons that you otherwise would never get to use. My wife is using the laptop right now, can I use the ouya browser to navigate to this page and then download through that link? I'd easily pay three bucks for your game, it reminds me of the Valis series in a major way.

Here's a screenshot of target earth
