A Memorandum For Developers Regarding Future Contests

This is a call to all OUYA developers who have games out, are close to releasing or plan to release in the future. As some of you know, myself and RiotingSpectre run contests for the members of the forum but we can't do this without your help. We do not have access to codes as some think, we depend on you guys to help us out. It could be one code, three codes or ten codes, it's really up to you. Some of you have been very generous in the past and hope you will continue to be.

Some of you have spoken to one or both us already about this and know we don't ask for an exorbitant amount, we don't pocket the codes, they are strictly for the members of OUYAForum. The contests are a way for us to help spread the love for the developers and get the name of your games out there. Plus it gives the members an opportunity to interact with each other and also to possibly get games that they may not have or have not tried out yet.

You guys can even make the contest if you choose to, some have been contests that were created by the developer like our iO contests. Gamious came up with the stages and we just gave it a theme and let the members go at it, io Contest #1. The contests have been competitions, Q & As, flash contests, different themes, etc. So the contests can be just about anything you want or we can make the contest like some of our Q & A contests. We do have some ideas ready to go but we can work with you on anything you want to do.

This is a list of some of our better contests Contest 1, Contest 2, Contest 3, Contest 4, Contest 5. Just so you can have an idea of some of the contests that we run for the members and see how they get involved, even members who aren't part of the contests, still answer questions and all that just to participate. OUYAForum is your biggest outpost for getting the word out about your games and you have some very loyal members and fans here who appreciate what is provided for them. The contests are a way of saying thank you to them for being here and making this one of the best forums around and gives them a way to show their appreciation for your hard work at the same time.

The winners for the contests are picked at random by having someone else pick, using a randomizer or even sometimes the developers get involved and pick the winner. We even had the 10 Days of Shuttle Rush contest where it was a trivia contest and the fastest one to answer got the code. We plan to have more competitions in the future of games allow for that but most have been Q & A so far. But again, the choice is up to you or just let us pick something and we'll run with it.
