Regarding the space issue on the OUYA console, this needs to be read. As for the game itself I'm excited to get my hands on it. I'm going through a slump so I don't know when the next time I'll turn on my console may be but I'll go straight to this when I finally do.

Maybe not exactly the best kind of dungeon puzzle, but I'll take that over the classic "find exactly the right combination of switches that each affect multiple doors/platforms" dungeon puzzle some other 16-bit RPGs liked to use.
I just finished that dungeon. I was relieved when I realized that the platforms were simply hidden in the same room, I got the idea to follow them once I couldn't find where they were landing. I was briefly worried that it would be some inane combination of the switches I had already pressed, it was a great deal of fun. *spoiler* I only wish I hadn't used so many consumables fighting that knight afterwards, I put two and two together too late that he was undefeatable.*spoiler*

That's not really the fault of the OUYA, its a problem of android architecture. Get a decent external drive(I use a 1TB WD drive) and you never will have this problems again.

But i wanted to talk a little bit about the game itself.(I'm now 8 hours in this game)

    Positive things first:

    ++ The graphics are amazing.
    ++ The sound is good.
++ The functions to up or downgrade graphics and sound is also a nice addon.
+ The Story is really oldscool RPG matereal

Negative things(and some are really really shitty negative):

    - The level-design is horrendous; The puzzles in this game, if you want to call them puzzles, are so confusing and shit, and not in any sense logical. Its really sad.

    example Spoiler:

The endless loop bit in the rock mountain. How on earth should i know to go north twice after the red haired girl is ripping her jacket just to trigger a conversation? What a shitty cheap way to get more play time

    - The random encounter:

Im not a great Fan of Random encounters in RPG'S but if they are timed right, they are somewhat okay.
But in this game its so awfully timed.

    example:
In the Pine forrest every 5 steps i got a random encounter, this was so frustrating.

It's like someone puts a really tasty cake(the cake is the story in pier solar) on the table, and every time you want to grab a little, you get your fucking dick ripped out by the guy who made the cake.

    - The everlasting boring battles:

Wow some battles(im not talking about bossbattles which are also quite repetative "crabfest") are almost going forever(5 party members against 7 enemy Apes).
If you know how to use the gathering system they get even more boring than before.
It's made the "attack mashing method" of old rpg's even worse because you have to pay attention to what button you are pressing but you always press the same combination and enbetween you have to wait.

    - Small technical issues

The small juckebox achiev is constantly popping up when i go into some sort of town(latest version of the game)
The active player popup(when a partymember makes a move) in battles is never showing the active person(i mostly see the father in the active partymember popup)
The walking control is not the best.
Sometimes you are not really able to see the right path you have to go(exampleath is obfuscated with a rock and you have to go through a one player sized gap but grafics are on top of this gap)

    Verdict:

I really wanted to like this game because you can see how much work and effort was put into it, but in the end its not really a good RPG.
And i can not really enjoy it like the real "oldscool" RPG's of the old times(Lufia 2 is still the pinnacle of this games)

It just feels like they wanted to make this epic 50 hour long rpg, but they didn't have the resources for it.
So they streched what could have been a brilliant 10 to 15 hour game into a 50 hour shitfest of untimed random encounters and too long too boring battles and squeezed in this horrible game design at the end.

I can't really recommend this game as it is right now.

Got about 20 minutes into this, and it's looking good so far. One complaint/suggestion though -- the analog stick is really sensitive. I can be walking right and going just a little bit off of horizontal starts me going up or down. Would it be possible to have the D-pad as an option for movement? Doesn't seem to work for me on my Xbox 360 controllers.

I have this issue as well. It's even worse when u switch to ur inventory screen and u need to fan through ur options and shiz. It's not too bad but still frustrating.

And can someone tell me what the abbreviations mean?

PP DP AP LP MA MD??

I don't play enough RPGs to know so please give me the run down haha

Anyone else have a problem with this game freezing up during randomly during dialogue scenes? I beat the first boss, got the herbs, healed the dad and then it froze! Now I have to fight the boss again. It's frozen on me a few times but this one is kind of annoying.

I've only put 2 hours into it but the game itself is a lot of fun so far. Unfortunately the HD version is way too dark on my screen so I'm going with the 16 bit. It would be nice if there was a way to cut down on loading time when you enter buildings in the town.

I love the music and am enjoying the combat system so far, hopefully some of the kinks will get worked out soon.

    Here ya go, DertayDert:

PP - Attack Power. The higher this is, the more damage you do.
DP - Defense. The higher this is, the less damage you take.
AP - Agility. The higher this is, the more likely you are to go first.
LP - Luck. This probably governs critical hits. The manual also says that Luck "might allow your hopeless attacks to succeed," whatever that means in this case.
MA - Magic Attack. Attack spells do more damage. Does not affect healing.
MD - Magic Defense. Like defense, but against enemy magic.

Remember that originally Pier Solar was/is a game for Sega Megadrive/Genesis so we think the game mechanics should not be changed too much for the HD version.

There are people that want play to original Pier Solar game but they haven't a Megadrive/Genesis console at present and the more comfortable way is play under modern hardware.

About original Pier Solar, in my opinion, it is not a game for the masses because it has a out-of-time way of play. The most players are nostalgic JRPG players.
