It's probably that Chinese company that will buy them. If so, maybe we'll get a new brand, using the existing online so infrastructure and gui, but with better hardware. Hopefully, they'll throw in Google TV for a western version and just use Ouya for the domestic Chinese market. I'd hate for Amazon or Google to buy it because they'd just rip to shreds and/or sit on it.

I'm looking forward to a non-Google/Amazon acquisition, though.

I would like to reitterate for folks who think the this is potentially good news: Technology buy outs or the basis of talent have historically always been bad news for the current product/service. What a consumer typically wants is a buy out on the basis of the product. This article if true is stating the former not the later. It could be wrong and its fine to suspend judgement, but if the article is true, it is likely not good for the Ouya hardware platform itself. It likely means prospective buyers want Ouya staff to work on whole new products or services.

Xiaomi buyout could be good for OUYA. They get access to cheaper, better hardware (cheaper K1s) and Xiaomi gets some north american distribution channel expertise.

It seems I'm a little late to the party. Big news, I for one am not excited at all.

I honestly hope the platform that Ouya stands for does not go away. The idea is what makes Ouya!!

If Google acquires OUYA, it'll just be "Extinguish" as far as OUYA as a product goes. Comparing that to Microsoft's evil strategy of embrace/extend/extinguish is not an accurate comparison.

Seriously, Google has no need for OUYA (who, incidentally, embraced and extended Android). They'd be doing OUYA an immense favor to bring them into the Android TV fold.

P.S. In case you were curious, you were Kickstarter backer number 5 for OUYA. Thank you for believing.

No Chinese companies or google. I would be down with another company though. I am optimistic. If this goes to a chinese firm ... I will post a video of me shooting my OUYA with a shotgun.

I told you guys this was going to happen. At first Julie always said she wouldn't sell. Last interview I seen she said selling was possible. Seemed kinda weird she gave a completely different answer.

Also OE makes sense now. I kept saying it was weird to focus so much on OE when there were so many more important things to work on for the actual first.

I said multiple times they are just trying to build up the company quick in the publics eye so they can make a big sale.

I believe this was Julies plan all along. Kinda sad
