OUYAForum's Emulators On OUYA Section.

Since that would be making it the way it used to be I'm curious about what the original reasoning for the emulator section was when first implemented?

It was my idea actually. I had thought it was finally time for Eddie to add a Emulator section to the forum because new emulators such as Reicast were rumored to be appearing on the OUYA console soon, along with the numerous side-loaded emulators that our users love to talk about. This, however, didn't translate well into a dedicated section. I guess it was a tad too overzealous without a section but not self sustaining enough for one.

Still undecided on this but am leaning on removing the Emulator section and moving the side-loading related material into Side-Loading and the Discover related material back into Current Games & Applications with no changes to that section's name.

It's nice to have a dedicated section for emulators, but in the end it just seems like a waste of space. Do as you see fits. It will get disorentating at first, but we'll get used to it.

Anyway, that is probably why we are both looking at it differently. I thought the original reasoning was that emulators are different enough from games to justify a separate section and therefore I was taking that to the logical conclusion of including apps because they are also things separate than playing OUYA games. That it why it makes sense to me to have a games section and a section for all the other things you can use the OUYA for.

I thought it was because of requests. Since there were so many emulators it would be best to have a section for them all, instead of them being broken and scattered.

I reverted it back to what it originally was. Once the redirects expire then I'll remove the section completely. No new posts can be made in the section as it's locked.

I'm indifferent. Almost all of the information I've ever needed about emulators exist on Google, as I sideload almost all of them, and the few scant ones I use from Discover are so simple in their options that I'll never have the need to ask a question about them.
