r0x (Extended Play) - RGCD

Hey there!

After two and a bit months of on-and-off work, Jamie and I have finally finished and released r0x EP for Ouya!



More avoid-em-up than traditional shmup, r0x (Extended Play) is a simple arcade game where ammo is scarce and you are rewarded generously for taking risks and flying dangerously. Graze rocks, bullets and enemies to recharge your cannon and thrust at breakneck speed through the deadly meteor storm to rack up an epic score!

The game is available for FREE on Ouya and there's a Windows version available over at itch.io. If you enjoy the game so much that you want to send a donation, that's the place to do it (wishful thinking!)

Also, as we already had a Steam Greenlight account, I chucked r0x up on there too. If Greenlit, we'll port the game to both Linux and Mac. Put your thumb up here!

That's it for now! We're going to start work on our next Ouya game in the next couple of weeks. Oh, and there will be a limited edition physical release of the game at some point, but more news on that later.

I never commented on your project before but since everybody seems to be enjoying themselves I guess now I have to take a look for myself. Congratulations on the release.

Wow! Thanks guys for the kind feedback and donations - we always meant for r0x to be a free game, our 'business card' for RGCD.DEV, but all the same - these donations really help

r0x has so far made back $50 of the $1000 it cost to develop (total cost of assets, development software, export module and compiler purchased to create the game).

The next game is in the 'design stage', but as soon as it starts coming together I'll start a new thread. Again, it's nothing too ambitious, but it's certainly a few steps on from what we did with r0x. I'm guessing we'll release it early 2015.

Please let us know if you find any bugs! I'm sure there are still some hiding away in the code. Oh! Check the 'story' scroller; Credits --> Story. Use down/up to speed scroll.

I did ask Saimo about this, but I'm sorry to say he has quit game dev, so there's little/no chance of a Huenison port happening.
