Its possibly do to the internal antenna (a chip vs physical antenna) used for wifi and bluetooth being without better words cheap. The newer iterations of the consoles have a seperate antenna for each and most people with the new consoles do not have that problem. There is also a thread floating around about how to check the firmware version for the controller and if they are old you can send them in.

I use a wired logitech controller a lot of the time but even when I use my ouya controller I don't hit lag. I'm usually on ethernet with my ouya on its side.
