    I think it also means less backwards compatibility work for developers. I have heard Devs have to code their games to work on SDTVs.

    Yup. If you build on say, the Xbox 360, then you need to take the "screen safe area" into consideration (the inner 90% becomes your usable area), as SD-TVs (720x576 for PAL and 720x480 for NTSC) can have some cut-offs with the way the CRT tubes work.

    I'm pretty sure you can get a HDMI to SD converter, something that breaks the signal down into the Video and Left/Right audio components - but I'm with the rest, I would come up to a HD-TV of some sort. Prices for them are plummeting, the quality is so much better (colours, refresh and frame rate - important for games, resolution - obviously), etc :-)
