(RCTW4A) Return to Castle Wolfenstein please help!

Has anybody had luck running RCTW4A? I am using the "main" folder which I placed in "/sdcard/rtcw4a/Main". When I try to run the game from the app's main menu, I get a black screen and the app crashes shortly after.

I had much better luck with Jedi Academy and Outcast, and am very excited to be possibly adding Wolfenstein to my Ouya's library as well. All ideas will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance for you help.

so, from what im reading you have a main folder in the Main folder?:
    /sdcard/rtcw4a/Main/main

that be too many mains, man =P

the .pk3 files and such should go directly in the Main folder.

    Hey main,

So I worded that poorly, only one tier of main here. In /sdcard/rtcw4a/Main/ I have the 4 .pk3 files. When I hit "start game" it crashes instantly. Any ideas?

ahhh, so. the troubleshoot is successful, as one possibility has been eliminated.
well tehn my next thoughts are:
    - if'n the filepath is aimed correctly in the initial game-launch settings (sdcard/rtcw4a)
    - is yer pk3 files patched to be up-to-date at 1.41?

It's because you only have four PK3 files. I'm guessing you tried not to include the multiplayer files to save space? Either way, I've just tested this to confirm, and after removing these files from my installation the game exited out after hitting "Start game", but after restoring them the game boots up correctly.

Hi guys thanks for your help!

DARKHALO2K: I took your advice and loaded all of the pk3 files (22 in total). The app now takes about 5 seconds longer to crash. Although those 5 seconds are spent on a black screen, they give me hope. I'm considering this a step in the right direction.

Vato: Good ideas. 1. checked my file path in the menu and it is correct. 2. I think the patch may be what I need, but that's giving me some trouble. See, I own a Mac so to get the game files I used WINE (runs windows programs in OSX) to run Steam for windows. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time using WINE to install the update, basically WINE's compatibility is shoddy and confusing to work out.

So that's where I'm at. Thank you both for your ideas, I feel like we're getting closer. My apologies that I'm just responding now, work got a little crazy this week.

Any pointers moving forward are greatly appreciated!
