I've been on the MOJO for almost a week now. I went in knowing the Ouya library would be limited, but not how limited. To be honest, there are a number of games missing that I wouldn't have expected. As for the system itself, there's some good and some bad. The WiFi is much stronger on MOJO. Stuff downloads much quicker than Ouya and streaming video is nearly flawless so far. Games run slightly smoother, although the difference is not as big as I would expect on some games given MOJO's more powerful hardware. Google Play is a gamble. A lot of games and apps are labelled incompatible, and even some that are labelled as working with the system do not. The biggest annoyance with the system though is the big, always-on blue light on the front. Even in sleep mode, this thing is on. Can someone tell Mad Catz that most of us are adults and do not need night lights? Oh, and it also has no menu command for sleep mode. You just have to leave it inactive and it goes off on its own.
The controller is pretty decent. I feels just like a third party XBOX controller, and that's always a good thing. I like that it has the mouse mode and PC mode and even phone clip, making it versatile far beyond the system it was made for. The one big problem with this though is that the USB dongle appears to be necessary for Bluetooth mode (which the games all use). This means one of your two USB slots is unavailable out of the box.
TL;DR
Despite the flaws, the system runs a good bit smoother overall than Ouya. It's great for media streaming and games run (somewhat) better. The controller is very useful on multiple platforms. Finding the game you want can be iffy. I hate that damn light! It's good at the sale price, if that's still going. Maybe even at $125-$150. But I would not pay full retail for it.
