Gah... fond memories of many a Lan parties playing Quake II and Mods. Even now.... Holy wars, Nighthunters, and Gloom are some of my favorite FPS mods to play.

is there btw any good Quake I and/or II Port for Android or Ouya? I'm currently in a oldschool fps mood.

Quake 1, Quake 2, and Quake 3, all made by the same dev on google play. You can even hook USB keyboard and mouse if you want to get all old-skool about it! You will have to root and side-load to acquire but man! that dev put in a ton of options to configure the game anyway you want.


The network option works in all versions as well! Was able to get into a quake 3 match on my Ouya just to get Royally pounded as I was using my controller. lol!

I couldn't even comprehend how to install WAD files because of its overcomplicated nature so I just uninstalled the game and never looked back. I'm sure someone will come in soon and inform you whether or not they're experiencing the same issue.

hmm...talking about updates not showing up: from when is the recent update? i cant remember, when i got an update for this app the last time and its not showing the update option currently.

I'm assuming he meant the recent "Chickcharney" update for the OUYA and not the DoomGLES app itself.

Yes, it was after the firmware update. I guess I am going reset Doom and loose my save games. I've never made it through Doom 2...

I ended up just reinstalling the game and everything was fine; save games were still there.

Looks like there was an update in the last couple days that removed some of the blood and water settings. There do seem to be camera flairs now which is nice.

not sure about on the ouya as mine is always connected, but i just grabbed the latest googleplay version for my shield portable and it works just fine when offline.
