Button Mapping for PS1 emulator (FPse

Hi. I used to have a huge collection of PS1 games and was happy to see a good emulator on the Ouya for this platform before purchasing. The emulator costs a few bucks but it's well worth it, and every game rom I've run works quite well. My question is about button mapping. It seems every time I start a new game, I have to individually map out all the controller buttons every time. When I run the emulator next time or start a new game, I have to do the button mapping all over again before playing. I'm using the standard Ouya pad. Does anyone know the settings I could use to set up the controller's buttons PERMANENTLY, so I don't have to do this every time I start a new game? Or if anyone can point me in the right direction to answer this question, would greatly appreciate it.

Are you talking about just the start and select buttons or all? Because the start and select buttons are mapped to touch the touch pad then push l1 for select and r1 for start by default
