I wasn't sure where to post this.

We have decided to offere a free service for people that would like a custom boot video for their OUYA but are not able to do this themselves. The info for how to have one made for you can be found here. I hope it is OK to post this here since it is a free service. Let me know if I need to remove it.

Only one request so far and he wasn't rooted. Waiting to hear back from him once he has rooted. We will add YouTube links of the custom boot videos once we get some people that want one. We are surprised nobody else has requested one. Thought there would be more interest.

How does one remove the boot video/animation? I'd rather gain those x seconds/milliseconds in booting up than see that animation.

The way the launcher apk is set up it looks for a video. You could replace the video with a <second mp4. We haven't tried it without a video when compiling the apk. It may work though. I will try and report back.

I'd be interested in this. I have just put my Ouya in a Sega Mega Drive mod (Just posted a few pics in another thread) it's purely a retro console running Neo Geo, NES, SNES, Mega Drive, Atari 2600 and PCE.

I would love an animated boot up vid of various characters and system logos or something, would this be possible?

I'm not rooted yet as i've only just got everything up and running, will look into it though.

What video does this replace? Is it the orange (U) that is shown on boot or the OUYA one that has the audio saying OUYA?

Eldon- It replaces the OUYA one. The (U) at the beginning is replaceable also.

Sennerz- Anything is possible.just remember that on startup the OUYA plays through the entire video before loading the launcher screen so you probably don't want anything too long. Let me know what you have in mind or if you have an mp4 we can use that and it's much faster and easier since we don't have to create the video itself.
