I love this app. I thought I was excited with the Crunchyroll one, but this and the whole pairing thing is amazing.

My roommate keeps texting me about how she loves watching Vine compilations with it because it's smoother than our smart television's YouTube application. I spent an extra two hundred dollars on that damn television just for that YouTube application since I hate hooking up computers to monitors that aren't ones built-in like what you'd find in a laptop. Now that the OUYA just does it better and without any inflated price factor in play; I feel burned. *Sigh* With all this said I don't know if I really do want it to be better than my smart television's YouTube application or not.

She says the application on the OUYA doesn't crash like it does on our Samsung smart television so I look forward to testing it out myself when I get home.

On the bright side, perhaps this will help you with getting people to try OUYA? I think your story there seems like something I could bring up to try to convince a few folks to get one myself.

XBMC has been able to play YouTube for quite some time. While I do appreciate OUYA coming out with a new app, I still think a Netflix or an Amazon Prime app would have a greater effect at bring new people in.

Yeah I used XBMC before, but it's nice to have an official app.
Which is BTW not working for me, it freezes in the main menu with the loading screen.

YouTube or YouTube in XBMC? Do you have any other information to go on with the former?

Does the official XBMC app have the pairing feature like this app does?

YouTube official. Don't know what more to say.
It starts, loads up, shows the menu on the left side, "Loading" on the right and stops responding.

If I'm fast enough I can get it to register one press on the d-pad.

Pressing home key still brings up the overlay menu and I can select "home" which just starts the main menu again.
