    Has Customer Support Been Naughty Or Nice?

    Hello,

    I'm asking the community whether they'd consider OUYA Incorporation's customer support to be adequate or not. I've always spoken with people directly so I can't say anything from personal experience but I'm always getting mixed responses from this community in regards to their issues actually getting solved in the end. Keep in mind that this isn't a thread to type out woe is me type stuff and instead informative responses that may be constructive criticism. Ask yourselves these questions first before responding.

    Was my issue something that can't be helped on my end or theirs? I see this the most of all.
    Was my issue something of a personal wish-list and not actually something required of customer support to begin with? I also see this a lot.
    Was my reported issue coherent? Nobody should have to use a decoder ring to decipher what someone else says.
    Was my issue also the same issue I've brought to customer support five billion times now? Again, I also see this a lot. Don't flood the system.
    Was my issue actually valid to begin with? How do I OUYA?

    when I had a faulty controller at launch they responded to me within a day and after checking I'd done the standard battery change, unpair and re-pair etc they quickly came to the conclusion that I should just take it back to the store I got it from for a replacement pad. They were pretty good with me and quick in response at the time when everyone else was ranting and raving that nobody was paying attention to them so I have no personal complaints.

    I wanted them to update my controller's firmware but I changed my mind after finding out that sending my controller to them costs $30 which is of course not OUYA's fault.

    They responded to my e-mails quickly so I have nothing to complain about.

    They sucked during launch and a few months after. I had a controller issue and it took days to respond even weeks at time. Never received a new controller and I even stopped using the OUYA. Gave up on it all together. Heck I didn't even try to get my free credit they emailed out if I felt left down. I wanted nothing to do with it

    Recently I decided to give it another try BC I got an email with a $5.00 credit to cone back and they are great now! Very fast response time and easy to work with. Guess they where overwhelmed at launch but for new customers it really left a bad taste in my mouth.

    Finally got my controller replaced in only 3 days this past try. Much happier

    I had an issue with a controller, Same day response...went through some testing...next day got an RMA for two controllers. They had them flashed and re-mailed to me one day after I sent it. then return shipping took 3-4 days.

    I am satisfied.

    I only emailed once about the controller flashing. They responded the same day though I didn't send them in for some reason. I need to do that.

    I'm happy with the service as a consumer, as a dev I feel like the could do with a few more staff as replies can take some time.

    My experiences are pretty much the same as most in here that have dealt with customer service -- in the beginning it was bad, but for the past several months it has been great. I have contacted them several times regarding various issues including having them update three of my controllers. I sent the controllers on a Friday and received them back the next Friday. Communication is great -- they usually respond fairly quickly.

    OUYA's customer service gets a big A++ from me.
