You know what else is ... well, maybe not "horrible" but kind of a bummer? Having no demo for this game when the concept seems to imply that it's a lot about a quite brand new control scheme. Floating around, pretty fast... I'd like to try that out before I buy it.

    Magnetic by Nature - Impressions.

Very disappointed by this game. It has the tell-tale marks of a game that was only play-tested by its developers - and nobody else, not intimately connected with the project. Much of what the game asks you to do, right from the start is both very ambiguous and much more difficult than it should be till late in the game. It has great style, music and lonely charm (like Clark) - but isn't nearly as well thought through. Many Of the actions feel more like luck than skill when they work.

For $9+ expected MUCH more. The original idea that all games would have demos should be reinstated, because there is no way I would have bought this if I'd tried it. Had hoped for something like Outworld on XBLA and instead got something more akin to a buggy/poorly-tested Super Magnetic Neo.

    Too bad. . .

Too bad. Haven't followed the game that much, just saw the trailer and thought it looked great.
Maybe they will provide a demo later on, as other big titles have delivered after launch. Will try it out then.

I'd also like to ask the developers for some kind of demo. I am very interested in the game, I like the concept a lot and the video looks good. But I'm not going to pay $9.99 for game without at least being able to try out the control scheme.

I didn't pay $9.99 for a game on Xbox Live Arcade or PSN without having played a demo first, and I'm not about to do it on my Ouya. I respect the developers choice of pricepoint, but at that price, it's not an impulse buy. I'll maybe wait until it's on sale and pick it up at half price so that I won't be as disappointed if I don't get on with the controls.

The thing that irks me slightly is that since it's a game advertised as having 120+ levels, why not put a pay gate after the first 5/10 of those levels? Odds are that if I've downloaded the 540MB of this game, I'm probably going to pay to play the rest of it. As it is, I'm not even going to bother downloading it until/unless it gets discounted.

This is why the requirement for games to have some kind of free element should have been maintained. I realise that boat's sailed, but it does feel like a bit of a kick in the teeth.

Agreed. I still hope that, once having tasted this customer-friendly fruit, we as a whole might simply tip the scales. I'm not talking about Magnetic by Nature anymore, but generally: If people buy only the games with demos, demos will happen. We're the market.

Good to know. I'm glad to hear that developers are listening and thinking about how they present their games to *potential* customers. The last thing any of us wants is for Ouya exclusive games to not sell due to having no demos, because that will cause a needless downward spiral of low sales and then less exclusives.

    Seconded!

I was just moderately excited to try it out, but since artphotodude's post I'm really excited.
