Hey, this is Tess with Hidden Achievement. Thank you SO MUCH for the feedback, Dan! It's great to get some thoughtful commentary. I think you understood the spirit of the game pretty well! We wanted to make a fun living-room pick-up game, where your friends and family can just wander over, pick up a controller, and jump in with you. In light of this, we wanted to stick with some older arcade gameplay mechanics that would resonate with a wide range of players. At SXSW, we had a lot of moms playing with their kids, and wow... that was pretty darn exciting to see!
We will definitely look at your balance concerns. We were working flat-out towards the end, and it is entirely possible we undermined some of our balance tuning.
