Announcement Concerning Application Package Files & Their Distribution On OUYAForum.
Hello,
This following message could be considered many things including as an announcement, or warning to those that interpret it like the post before it. I had previously informed all of you here that any behavior against the interest of developers who have gone premium wouldn't be met with approval by OUYAForum Staff. This includes berating them for not having a demo, disenfranchising them, and disparaging them in general amongst other things. This is something you all know already but there seems to be one other thing that goes against their interest and that's the fact that people are posting links to application package files that don't contain demos from various sources if their game or application has gone premium after the policy change. This is considered piracy by us, official OUYA Incorporate Staff, and the developers who developed those game or applications.
Furthermore, giving out hints as to where people can find these application package files, using websites to anonymize your links, and anything else to still go about the distribution of these kinds of files will not be permitted. Our blue named friends are our family as much as you like to think they're against the consumer base with this whole policy change. Doing what OUYAForum Staff has seen is like spreading around someone's credit card number that belongs to a regular John Doe and putting yourself in the shoe's of others will give you the perspective as to why we no longer allow such distribution on here. All you need to do is ask other members their thoughts on the premium content and search YouTube for videos from people like Jeremy Peeples and Otakupunk. No reason to turn this website into an black-market when there's no excuse as to why you all can't do simple, painless steps to acquire enough information for yourselves without having to resort to what is considered piracy.
Lastly, OUYAForum.com follows similar guidelines to the company we all know and support which means that doing something they wouldn't like is doing something we wouldn't permit so it's good to take this into account for future reference.
