So I achived this in complete accident, maybe someone can shed some light on this I believe its a bug in the OUYA external mounting software. Anyhow I got a response from OUYA about formatting my drive to NTFS and set it as a primary partition , mind you I had done this before and my OUYA freezes no matter if I plug in the external drive while its off, unplugged , sleep mode, turning the whole OUYA consonle upside-down you name it Ive done it .
So im playing Neon Shadow which is mounted on my 16GB 3rd party cheap chinese thumbstick , look over my monitor & see EaseUS partion has done formatting the drive . I sigh and told myself "Ive done this before, its just going to freeze up again, what I got to lose." Safely eject the external from my PC . ( now heres the accidental part ) I double tap the OUYA home button to exit the game & right before I could touch the thumb drive I rememberd from a past mistake where I pulled the thumb drive and somehow screwed up all my OUYA games , so I double tap the OUYA home button again & used the safely eject option.
I pulled the thumb drive once the OUYA gave me the all clear & re-plugged in my external . Waited a couple of seconds and saw no change in the screen as usual thinking to myself " yep it froze ". However I started to use the controller & noticed that the menu was still active . Checked the storage and its there..
thats great news but seriously, how the hell did that work? i cant even get my 100+gb to work lol
Try my accidental method . Format the Drive using EaseUS software.
Format the Drive as a Primary Partion & NTFS .
Once is done formatting or while it is formatting get a USB flash drive that has worked previosly on your OUYA and plug it in.
Download a game from the Discover store (e.g Neon Shadow) Install the game to the USB flash drive.
PLay the game for about a minute.
Double tap the OUYA home button, select exit the app.
Double tap the OUYA home button again , select safefly eject USB.
Once the OUYA give you the OK , remove your USB flash drive and plug in your external hard drive. (Make sure you safely eject your external drive from your PC)
Let me know if this works .
