After reading through this whole thread (phew....) - I still can't shake the underlying feeling that all this decision does is muddy some already very unclear waters.
The OUYA console has been plagued since inception with misrepresentation, consumer misunderstanding (It just plays phone games right??), controversy (Free The Games Fund anyone?), and the promise of games that would come and then disappear into the ether (MineCraft, Human Element, TWD)
The one staple of the console - that everyone (that's consumers AND developers people) knew... 100%... dead certain... was that every game on it was Free to Try.
Now we hear that this is not going to be the case - the goalposts have shifted and added more confusion to a system that only really had 1 defining characteristic.
I can't help but feel that a little piece of the OUYA has died today.
