There is a huge demsnd to dump csble tv. Apps like NBC, CBS, etc. are already here. The best part is the availability of international programming like French or Korean TV channels. There are no IPTV boxes out there that offer what android apps can provide on the international programming arena.
Add in XBMC for Ouya and you don't need a PC.
So when is the next version of the Ouya coming out? I heard in May and I want the latest.

Still have basic cable but only because it keeps my overall Internet price low. Other then that, I just use my OUYA, Wii and httpc for video watching.

Nothing has been announced. No idea where you heard it was coming in May. The original plan was "late 2014" which would certainly not be May. The latest word from OUYA Inc. was that they hadn't decided for sure when the next version would be coming or what it will even be. Might as well grab the original or the black edition for now.
Would the 8GB version be able to hold XBMC and all my TV apps?

Easily. But obviously the actual media XBMC plays will be on a USB or network drive.
