But, I'm still mulling it over in my head! I feel the main reason the Kickstarter failed because I advertised the game that was possible with the funds I was asking for, rather than asking people to help me make the game I REALLY wanted. So, I'm working to remedy that and try to figure out what I really want!
Your kickstarter did pretty well for not reaching your goal. I think just having a better managed kickstarter could be enough to succeed. But, you or someone might need to make a lot more updates, spend a lot more time reaching out to gaming press and promoting on social media platforms, etc. And of course additional features never hurt.

Somewhere around here there's a thread with kickstarter tips, if you haven't read it, there might be some info in there that can really help make a difference next time around.

Sure it could be original, could attract people.

I imagine half game with you fighting for the death of the king, slashing brave knights (mid-game boss: the King), and the last half of the game you'll fight demons, trying to conquer the control of the dark side... final boss could be Satan (or similar)
I like that idea! Sounds like one of the main inspirations for the game, EvilQuest. But it doesn't capture the mood I'd like for this game. Again, it sounds like you're talking about a Diablo clone and that's not what I want. But, the concept is useful even for something other than a Diablo clone, so I'll definitely keep it in mind!

Trust me, I did all I could with the Kickstarter given the situation, and yes, I've followed many tips on this forum and other places around the internet. There are SO many great resources out there and I wouldn't have gotten even close to what I did had I not prepared myself before starting! I emailed dozens of game press sites, none of which responded. This is most notably because the game couldn't advertise itself as special, because it doesn't have anything special about it, which goes along with what I said before. I did try to keep up on social networking sites, but I am not very good at it yet...but I'm getting there! Also, I had to get an emergency surgery right in the middle of it, which prevented me from being able to work on the Kickstarter at all, much less write updates and create hype for it. There are also things I could have done if I had a little bit of cash, which I didn't at the time (I had just lost my main contract client). But, I still attribute most of its failure to be because of generic name, setting, and game mechanics, and not showing off things like puzzles, spells, etc (which I don't have ready).

I've just partecipated to the backer's survey. I hope to hear some news here as well!
Most of the time I keep my OUYA offline: please consider it before inserting a phone-home/always online DRM in your game. If you still plan to do so, please declare it. You don't want pirates, I don't want to be frauded.

That was fast, haha. Thanks! I'm working on updating all my forum posts right now!

You Decide the Future of the Game! Please Participate.

As you may know, Saga Heroes was not funded on Kickstarter! I know, this is a few months late, but I've been trying to decide what to do with the game since it then. After months of deliberating and questioning everything this game is, I finally came to my senses. Why not let the future players of the game decide what they want?

So, I created a tiny survey, that's really no more than a poll on what you, the fans, want me to do with Saga Heroes. Your choices will affect the final output of the game, so please participate!

    https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Bxf...afY3Y/viewform

Please, please, please participate in this poll!

It will take most of you no longer than 2 minutes to finish the survey, and will provide me with all the information I need to bring you the game you want. Without participation, this game could disappear due to lack of interest! Please don't let that happen!

I will continue to work on this game in my own spare time until funding is acquired, or the game is complete.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement!

Co op would be great, massive rug with local 2 to 4 co op would make me cry in bliss.

I had a problem, no matter what controller I used the game would not let me navigate or anything. Re installed and even tried friends ouya controller,.... Still did not work

    Thanks everyone!

The response has been far better than expected. Based on the response I will definitely continue work on the game and probably do another Kickstarter. Gotta hurry though because the deadline for OUYA's Free the Games Fund is August 10th, which means I'd have to start 30 days before that!
