RED. Is coming to OUYA! Just got it working today ^.^)

Hello one and all :beguiled:

We (Knife Media) will be bringing our game RED to OUYA in time for launch!

RED is a stylized dual-stick shooter that uses cartoon graphics and focuses on the outings of a Mr. Rick Steel when some nasties decide to invade the city. The game was originally planned as an iOS focused title, but we have decided to switch primary development to OUYA for the time being. The game will feature:

• Smexy cartoon graphics
• Multiple environments
• Persistent player leveling
• Same couch multiplayer (!)
• ...and some pretty freaky enemies :)

Ha, this game looks great. I love the graphics. I find it interesting that you have decided to solely concentrate on putting this game on OUYA.

Thanks! We will be bringing it to iOS as well, but for now the focus is getting it out before March arrives.

We'll be polishing it up today and hopefully there will be a vid up soon...

I'm lokking forward to a video, I love the artwork but you can't really see it in the screen shot, is it always top down with his face hidden?

It is from a top down perspective, but you can see his face when he moves at different angles. For two player we will likely have a camera that keeps a reasoned eye on both of the players instead of splitscreen.

It's interesting that you decided to switch development to Ouya for now. Did you find an advantage to developing on Ouya first?

This looks awesome! I love these sort of cartoony type of games. Makes me feel more like I'm actually playing a game, then say when I play something that tries to be so realistic.

OUYA definitely runs a lot faster than an iPad, so yes we are able to make the game look much prettier [and bigger] than before :]
