Shmantis - Kaiju Sushi
Hey guys!
I have posted a port of a free PC game from back in 2006 - Shmantis by a Russian developer Kaiju Sushi. The game is a reimagining of an old ZX Spectrum game Phantis.
Originally - I did the port for fun and to allow my 5 year old son to play the game using a controller which the game didn't support, but over the next few days I've added other features to the game without altering the core "experience".
Yes - as you might've seen, Shmantis is NOT the prettiest game in existence, nor the deepest, but it has a sense of adventure rarely seen in an action platformer.
There is a constant sense of progression - the scenery changes, and no two stages look alike.
The game can be hard and unforgiving but with practice - totally beatable.
Oh, and in case it's TOO hard for you - at the title menu press Down, Up, Left, Left, Right, Down for a god mode (if you screw up the entry - start the game, back out to the front menu and try again - sorry, didn't feel like implementing the cheats any better: )
Oh - and there are two extra unlockable game modes.
