In this tongue-in-cheek, co-op, beat 'em up game, you play as one of three sexy super-hero pole dancers as they travel the world fighting against injustices such as sex-slavery, violent drug lords, religious extremists, corrupt governments and greedy corporations. Along with the help of their trusty DJ and his robotic creations, you'll be thrown into a wacky adventure reminiscent of many classics - such as Double Dragon, Streets of Rage and Battletoads - but with modern polish and gameplay.

I've been working hard on the concept for this game, preparing a rough plan for a Kickstarter campaign I'll be launching later this year (probably November) and laying the ground work for a functional prototype. However, I wanted to create this thread today so that when I'm ready to start posting some juicy content (hopefully in a week or two), you'll all have a place to check it out and be excited. I'll be dropping by every now and then, so feel free to give comments, feedback and add yourself to whatever social media you'd like!

@Warzard - Yeah, I researched Lolipop Chainsaw a while back (still haven't played it yet though) when I was coming up with the concept. It's pretty close and definitely something I need to be more familiar with, since a lot of the same gamers who like that one would be drawn to mine. The big difference between the two is that I hope to retain some "substance" in terms of having a compelling story, characters... while that game is pure mindless fluff, which, I suppose is good for a button masher haha

This game's gonna be awesome ,I love this kind of game and it'll help you and OUYA , I know there's too soon but , I think that the other striper concept art with the Mohawks it's not sexy , she looks like one of the bad guys that you will kick ass on the streets

mmhmm This is a good list. Curious how deep the combat system is. While those are awesome old school games they had one or two buttons and a lot of mashing.

I'm still working out exactly how I'm going to build the combat system, but I most definitely want to expand it beyond the simple punch / kick mechanic of the old school games. I'm hoping to do this by stringing together combinations based on different attack button sequences, making use of blocking / countering / throwing, using the shoulder buttons to allow for alternative attacks, power-up modes where the entire characters attack style changes to something more powerful and interesting, etc...

I still want it to have that button masher feel, because I personally feel like that's what the genre calls for... push buttons and just have fun. But, I want to reward more experience players with more finely tuned controls so if they want to go for the combo that requires precise timing, they can do so. Right now I'm studying Street Fighter x Tekken at a frame-level to figure out how I'm going to implement my own system. So, I'm definitely taking the combat seriously and trying to make it better than the old-school games.

If anyone has ideas, suggestions, feedback, etc... for what they would like from a modern beat-em-up, please feel free to share. I'm still in the design phase so I'm open to suggestion.

A couple ideas for combat:
- A refillable meter to slow time or boost/turbo/supercharge... prefferably left trigger or right trigger
- lollipop chainsaw has interactive objects, like a pole, to use other special moves for... would fit in with your stripper theme

Also some other general things to help you accomplish your kickstarter:
-Make the game longer than 6 levels, and honestly if you're doing a legit story line then don't use the word "levels", use "chapters". Aim for for at least 6 hours worth of gameplay
-Add some rpg elements like: character growth (skill increases), make cool combos unlocked later, etc
-Add online and local vs, or even online coop with your story if possible this will give your game replay value. Not quite your genre, but this made left 4 dead very popular with my friends
-Don't submit your project to kickstarter without a gameplay video
-Don't submit your project to kickstarter without cool things to go along with your game for backers (projects with cool items get funded)

In the past I've dabbled in making combat fighting games and a good way I found for combos was working them on meters so when you punch the meter goes right up then if you press the kick you can start adding to the combo.

The idea is you can alternate your punch/kick buttons and depending on what meters above zero depends on what attacks/combos you can do.

I'd like to see combos specific to weapons, like a staff or a pair of nunchaku.
