- Limited Lifespan and Permadeath: Each turn your hero takes = 1 year of their life.

- 6 Strategic Paths and Meaningful Choices: grow in Strength, Exploration, Love, Wealth, Fame, and Wisdom.

- City Crafting System: build great towns and morph their cultures.
Expansive Overworld: explore a 3x3 connected grid of world, each with their own unique tileset (Volcano, Desert, Island, to name a few)

- Meaning: a surprising and thought-provoking experience, that explores themes of death, legacy, family, love, and more.

i really like the game so far its simple yet complex. so glad to have a game like this on OUYA.
my only complaint is that the game seems to be to far zoomed out it does not look like the pics on the store
so it makes everything look way to small IMO. but i still think the game is worth it :)

Hi! Thanks so much for checking the game out. Over the next week i'll be making a number of improvements to the game, including increasing the text size of certain elements. The game tile size itself unfortunately was not build to scale up, so that size will stay the same. But I'm planning to do all I can to make it a better "10 foot" experience in the next update.

I bought this... And as it is, I regret it. Sorry :( . The game is so zoomed out that the text is barely legible, I can hardly see what's going on and more than half the screen is just a blank solid color. It didn't look anything like this in the pictures or video. I'll give it another try tomorrow, maybe I'm just having a bad day... I really like the concept of the game, looking forward to seeing the improvements you are going to make.

@anatomality - I'm working to address a few issues by the end of this week:

1. overall performance - hoping to increase the speed of turns and framerate.
2. forced return to main menu after extended play due to graphics memory overrun.
3. Adding additional borders / graphical polish to the white space on sideview and map screen in 1080p.
4. Increasing text size of critical text elements.

The issue are a hazard of my engine and low dev experience, but I'm hoping to get the game in shape for you soon. Apologies for the bad experience.

I haven't played this game yet, but it might help performance to decrease the output resolution to 720p. A lot of games do it, there's no shame ;)
Another thing is to test the text size on an actual tv if possible, with a few meters distance. I've noticed a few games that just become unplayable because the text is so hard to read. ( e.g. Open season beta comes to mind, in the inventory and so)

it was pricey for a game without a demo and I only checked it out because I have the all access pass and couldn't see the price. That being said, I tried it out and kept being booted back to the main screen and losing my progress before I got to play for very long. I gave it one star because of this, but will check it out after an update to see if I can play it and I will change my rating if it works better.

Just updated with text size adjustments. Crash restarting players and optimizations coming in next update!

That is an odd order to fix things in, but glad to see there is progress none the less. I'll hold off until the crashing is fixed.

Every article I've read about this game has conveniently left out that's on OUYA. Humph. I didn't even know it was on OUYA until I came here today.

The lack of investigative journalism aside, sometimes the developer themselves are responsible for things like this happening. I doubt they've advertised that the game is on the OUYA unless you count the random tweet here and there.

Hi everyone, as someone mentioned the game was updated to 1.16, which includes (in addition to a bunch of game crash and bug fixes) increased text size for the main pop-up message and hover info panel. I am working on the crash to main menu today. The problem is related to texture memory running out in the 1080p version of the game, so in the meantime you may want to try playing at 720p and seeing if the issue doesn't occur (or occurs less frequently).

I'll post here when an overall fix is found.

I don't know the ratio on 1080 vs 720 but when optimizing for OUYA most of us will mention 720, it's what works out best.

Play in 720P? Is there a setting for that in the game?

I'll have to revisit this soon, just saw that it was updated. Great to see fast fixes like this.

Well, just out of curiosity I tried and the updated version is just flat out refusing to load up. The progress bar on the bottom is pretty much all the way across, but just stops and hangs. I'll try an uninstall/install another time.

I think you would have to set your tv to 720p display mode, I think, if you have a 1080p tv. Not saying that's ideal, but it is a potential work-around until the main bug is fixed.

I'll test the game out and see why you might be having an issue loading the game. It could possibly be that an old save game data (stored as a flash .sol file) is having a conflict, but I don't see immediately why that would happen (just speculating without being able to investigate directly).

I think I could really like this game if it wouldn't keep kicking me to the start screen. I played last night and got kicked to the start screen at least 25 times. happily, I have been able to load my game when it happens and I only lose 1 turn. I did notice a glitch that when I get booted and reload that I can't enter a town that I am sitting on and have to lose 2 years of my life to get in.

This shouldn't have been released like this, I feel really bad saying this. I have bought alooot of games on OUYA. This one was quite expensive, and it barely works. Belongs in the beta section, wish I could get my money back.

Doesn't register button presses… press a few times until something happens. Everything is still very small (although I can read the text now).
Strange bug where controller actually shuts off and then on again, only ever noticed this when discover crashes back to home.

Very sad because this game had great potential. Super ambitious, good idea cool looks... Not enough time spent finishing it for the OUYA.
