Really weird
I played after the famous patch:
the game now is showed on a window, smaller than the full screen but not so much to be annoying.
However... talking about the game experience:
Now the big frame drops do not appear, but I continue to see a medium frame-rate not enough smooth.
Surely it's playable, but NOT at its best. The game is fast, the powerups are small and hard to take (/avoid, talking about mines) and the frame rate doesn't guarantee a "truly fluid experience".
Maybe I'll buy it for OUYA, but before that I want to try it on my Nexus7 (2013ed).
I completely uninstalled Flashout 2, booted my OUYA with the external storage unplugged and installed only Flashout 2. So, basically, a clean OUYA with one game on the internal storage. It is exactly the same like before. A black border around the screen and extremely low framerate. I guess my OUYA is just... worse, than other OUYA's. :/
Well the black border is there for everyone more or less. The performance issue I never had though. Some say they are still having them :/
I just wish they would fix the size so I could try it. Till then I removed it. Bah, besides I am still trying to finish the first one lol
The size of the border will depend on the amount of overscan your TV does. For people that do not see it your TV is doing a hack of a lot of overscan.
I have a very minimal border probably a centimeter if even that, and you know it must be minimal if I had to use metric :p
There is an overscan setting but for this game it's not going to the very very edge, it does in other games. The OUYA has an overscan setting too.
Damned shame that people are having performance issues because the game is silky smooth for others.
Metric huh? Mine is 1 inch top and bottom and just under 2 inches on each side. But yeah I have no over scan at all on. The boarder isn't what bothers me. It was there when it ran in window mode too and I was fine with it. The problem I have with it is the actual game play screen is like shrunk now after the update lol. Kind of a pain in the ass to play.
Yeah I never had that as an issue. Just minimal spacing on the sides.
Got a go on this game, really amazing. I cut the borders out, btw...

So I'm guessing this got released. Hmm... It still doesn't warrant unboxing the OUYA.
