I just started to play this and wow. What a game! The gameplay and artwork feels a bit like a mix between The Adventures of Link and Fez but it has got an own atmosphere that makes me feel like I'm playing something new even though it's familiar. I'm completely stuck right now at
the mountain temple, there's this puzzle that requires four blocks to be solved and I can only find three - two of which can't be moved more than a few spaces before getting permanently stuck
and I haven't even found the
boots
yet, which I think I'll need to progress.
Anyway, what did you guys do at the place where the
godess asked of you to turn back and leave her place alone and in return she'd open a pathway in the east, leading to
a shovel and a crystal
? Did you go for the reward or the loot? :D
As for your first question, I don't remember that particular part, but maybe you could find a Let's Play over at Elliot Quest's Steam Community Hub at that temple - http://steamcommunity.com/app/293440...ter=mostrecent - although, after a quick glance, it doesn't look like anyone made it that far...
As for your second question,
I turned back, not having any idea what I was "supposed to do."

Where's your favorite grind spots? I kind of... need more money. And lots of it. To buy upgrades, because the new area I just unlocked is kicking my butt! :D

Grinding is excruciating. I never really found a good spot. Rather, I...
... went around finding treasure chests in places I'd already visited, regular and blue, and gathering all the gold I could out of them. There's more than enough gold if you search thoroughly, I think

What Chris said. Generally if you just play a while and visit old places again you just end up getting enough money. ^^
Does anybody know that the
helmet does?

Wait, wait wait wait waaaaait.... Can I
get more gold from old treasure chests? Even when they're opened and look like they are picked clean? I must have walked by hundreds of opened chests by now with all my backtracking and blindly going everywhere! *facepalm* :D Yes, I have been getting my gold from the odd one coin dropped by enemies. I have saved up 400 through just this, and it took me hours and hours.... *double facepalm*

This was another title I bought recently. Got to say, what a beautiful and immersive game. Spellbound my whole family over the weekend. Ansimuz you must be very proud of this amazing game. :)

Nope, I think they just mean search old areas for chests you might have missed-- and kill monsters while you search.
I am really wishing for an exhaustive spoiler-filled Nintendo-Power style guide for this game, kinda like the one that got my 14-year-old self through Zelda II way back in the day

I've been playing this game little by little over the last 2 months and I think I'm getting close to the end and have loved every bit of it.
I've gotten stuck A LOT in this game but have been able to figure out most of it on my own. There are no walkthroughs online right now but the Steam forum has some good hints. It gets frustrating, but part of the fun is getting lost in the game. This is easily my favorite OUYA game and one of my favorite games in recent memory; I'm a big fan of the original Zelda (and similar games of the era) and I think Elliot Quest does an amazing job in it's tribute to the style. It's supposed to come out on the WiiU pretty soon so hopefully a walkthrough will appear at some point.
The best way to grind in this game is to find a place where a bunch of flying monsters spawn near the entrance to the screen. Use the Whirlwind magic to kill them quickly and gather whatever they drop, run off screen to let them respawn, then repeat. This works great for leveling up quickly but takes awhile to gain cash.
Most of your cash will come from chests. Chests don't regenerate. Use your cash wisely.
Your character maxes out at level 20, be careful how you distribute your leveling points. That's all that I will post for now; the fun of this game is in figuring it out.

While I don't agree with the guides and all that, if you do a web search there are a few walkthroughs and guides and some in video form too.
