I don't like making long winded posts for stating the obvious but here goes.
Let's try this in order of posts.
Fireballs, when have you known me to not answer a PM? Any member can tell you that if they PM me, they will get an answer, usually within minutes unless there is a reason it doesn't happen.
As for number two, I thought it was obvious since I made a blanket statement at the time it was going on. Not going to answer that in public because that's not my style, so you will get a PM before I leave for work.
Fireballs, I work in construction and beat my body up all day. When I get home I just want to relax, do what I do. Yesterday I came on and all that rumor stuff was going on so I had to go through that, do my staff duties, walk around the forum and clean up any messes, answer emails, answer PMs, then try to have a minute to myself. I usually come home, do all that, moderate and talk to someone. I try to answer most things right away but if I don't, I think you can allow me a little time to get to it, I always do and you know that. Yesterday was a mess for members and staff, think about it, what if the rumors were true? That affects ALL of us.
RS, same schedule? Somewhat close to the same schedule except you have a computer at work and sometimes I do work like 15 hours but basically the same. Plus add in the fact that neither of us sleeps and we're up all night.
Post merger is something I have asked about several times actually and so have others. In the grand scheme of things, not too important but it would create less work for mods and less hassle for some who may not know how to edit their posts. I've been meaning to put together something on that but just so many other things have taken precedence.
The post merger merges ALL. There was a mod made by someone as an add-on BUT it has not been updated, that is the one that we need because it can specify which sections get merged, etc. But it still merges for everyone in the thread. On IPB forums it's different as I ran a few and am very familiar with it. There may be another one out there but when they don't update their add-ons, it causes errors. (Why does not updating things sound familiar)
And no a post merger does not put a line or anything, Schiz, when you go to merge posts, that's what it looks like with the post merger.
Think I covered everything.

Forgot to update on this. I looked into this prior to me demoting myself and I recalled exactly why I hadn't enabled it in the past.
One: It doesn't work because of our current add-ons which conflict with it.
Two: It doesn't have any sort of customizing options.
Three: There are no add-ons for double-post merging that are supported so a alternative is out of the question.
While it would be convenient it's not like OUYAStaff ever punished people for double-posting unless certain circumstances were to be fulfilled. Paul Laimal-Convoy posts on this forum via his phone which makes it extremely difficult to use the Edit feature of his previous posts. He's tried numerous times to get this to work and Staff understood that perfectly so naturally the team are more lenient towards his doing that along with others. However, that's not to say that Staff wouldn't be lenient if he or someone else decided to triple-post hence one of the certain circumstances I mentioned.
All and all, it's really not necessary given how Staff doesn't reprimand people for double-posting unless yada-yada happens. Everybody should be fine unless they're trying to break the rules & piss off Staff.
