I'm tempted to remove this and move the threads accordingly. This is because this section is going largely unused. However, I'm not without getting a second opinion so speak up, OUYAForum. Should the section be kept?

Something I don't like about it is the Discover emulator threads get buried under other emulator topics. If the section is kept I would prefer the Discover ones to be stickied. However, if it was to get removed I would prefer it to be changed to Current OUYA Apps and Emulators, have it function like Current Games and Apps with one thread each, and it would keep the apps and emulators from being mixed in with all the games. That would make it easier for people to just search through the games and have a separate section for the extra things the OUYA does(apps and emulators). So, it would be:
Current OUYA Games
Current OUYA Apps and Emulators
Uppcoming OUYA Games, Apps, & Emulators
That's a lot of stickies, Schizophretard. It would get to the point where the first page of the section would be nothing but stickies and people would just skip the page. Emulators are applications so editing a section of the forum to say Games, Applications, & Emulators would be an oxymoron. It would just simply say Games & Applications like always with the emulators being moved there as if they were originally there in the first place (which they were prior to the Emulator section be conceived). The side-loaded emulators would go into the Side-Load section.
Games are applications too. I'm talking about non-gaming applications like the app genre in Discover just like there is an emulator genre in Discover. It would get kind of ridiculous if we had a section for every genre but apps and emulators are genres of apps that aren't games. They are things you can do on the OUYA other than playing OUYA games. So, it makes sense to me for the apps to be with the emulators and separated from the games like the emulators already are. For an example, a new member comes and wants to know what the OUYA can do other than playing OUYA games. They would have a convenient place to go to see all the non-game applications that are on Discover instead of them being mixed in with hundreds of games which makes them hard to find unless you already know what you are looking for.
I like the emulator section as a discussion area about the general subject and for users to look for help with them. I would rather the threads for the apps and emulators themselves be with all the other game threads in the current games and apps subsection. With the strict controls on threads for apps but users being able to run amok with new discussion threads it makes more sense to me to split them that way. But if no one is really using the emulator section then I see no reason not to scrub it.
When I do see activity in the Emulation area, a lot of it tends to blur the line between whether (absent the Emulation section) it would belong in the Current, Side Loading, or Support sections. "What's currently the best way to play 'X' type of game?" They're asking for support with something they want to do, but the answer might be a current DISCOVER emulator or something that has to be side-loaded from who knows where. Just an example, as there are lots of other potential scenarios.
I agree with Schizo's observations, but I don't like the idea of having a crapton of sticky threads. Instead, maybe we could kill two birds with one stone by having an "Apps, Emulation, and Media" area where we could put all of the various important-but-infrequent topics that trickle in but aren't about OUYA games per se, such as XBMC.
That is kind of what I'm saying but it would be "Apps, Emulation, and Media" for Discover and the rest could be in the sideloading forum. Or the Discover sections could have sideload subforums for specific games, apps, and emulators like:
Current OUYA Games with sideloaded games subforum.
Current OUYA Apps and Emulators with sideloaded apps and emulators subforum.
In the sideload subforums there would be one thread for each game, app, and emulator. There would be one Netflix thread, one XBMC thread, one sideloaded The Walking Dead thread, etc. All the non-specific sideload threads would stay in the regular sideload forum.
I can see the case for that, but there's a tendency for media talk to involve XBMC and SPMC (for example) in the same discussion, especially when someone is asking general questions before actually using either of them. Discussion of arcade emulation can similarly go between Discover and side loading, since the topic isn't really about any one app. I think being able to jump between diverse sources is one of the main advantages of the Emulation section as it is currently. Just my 2 cents.
Still undecided on this but am leaning on removing the Emulator section and moving the side-loading related material into Side-Loading and the Discover related material back into Current Games & Applications with no changes to that section's name.
