It reminds me more of NES Metroid. Which isn't a bad thing :)

Congrats on the release. I'll download this later, looks interesting. Kind of reminds me a bit of Montezuma's Revenge and Pharaohs Curse on the old Atari 800 :)

Super Space Adventure is indeed based on the metroid series. I'm a big fan of the 2d entries from metroid.
It's my first time designing a large puzzle world like this, i'm trying to follow some of the design principles from metroid (there are a lot of nice articles analysing super metroid)

Any feedback is welcome, I release the game in this beta form to gather feedback/reactions so i can improve this game.
So if you've played it you can leave you feedback here:
tell me what you liked, what you didn't like and what you think needs to be tweaked/improved.

Also i'm still working on the sound effects, which is a whole new ballgame for me so far :)

gmaes question. I've reached the point where the spiderwalk ability needs to be unlocked, but every way that connects to it is blocked. the left has no way to reach the door without the ability even to the point of getting back out of the room, and the right side shows the orb, but no way in. did I miss something?

Hi, i don't have a spiderwalk in the game. So i'm guessing you mean the ability to jump in crawler mode, is that correct? Then you should be somewhere on the bottom of the map which is only accesible with the armor which protects against the poison?
