It depends of why your system is hissing. I have had several issues that have caused that. For eample if you are using XBMC on Ouya and try to play dts files it will hiss because it is not licensed for dts/dolby and they are not going to license it, at least for this version of the system.

It was HDMI-CEC that can't be supported on the current OUYA hardware. Audio bitstreaming is a different matter.

My ouya just started downloading an update, I did a system check about 3 hours ago and it said it was up to date so maybe this is it?

Oddly it happened the moment I inserted my USB stick and I was worried that the usb file checking was going to crash, seems to be alright.
