Has anyone done any modifications to get OUYA working on 5ghz wifi? I see it has the 2.5 ghz wifi which unreliable at best in an apartment.

Hmm, interesting idea. There have been many pictures and a couple threads about the antenna and people wanting to modify it (mostly for better reception) but never to change it's frequency. I'm not even sure how you would go about that. Would just changing the antenna be enough? That seems like it would be too easy.

Was thinking more like adding an external USB to WIFI 5ghz adapter and getting the drivers installed under OUYA and working.

Something like this

http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-N900-Wi-Fi-Adapter-WNDA4100/dp/B006V72AE0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1381172331&sr=8-3&keywords=usb+5ghz+wifi+adapter+net

Supposedly people have an older version running wih the RASBPII but would need drivers

EDIT: Forget this idea. The NETGEAR product for USB to 5ghz wifi is a bad technology. Had to pull the device off my workstation and go back to Ethernet.

What about a Wifi adapter that connects via Ethernet cable?
